Thank you, members of the House/Senate as the House Chair of the committee on Natural Resoucess, we discussed this bill in great detail. We thought that a casino in Northern Maine would allow people to visit all of Maine on their way to the casino benefiting all of the State not only the area around the casino

Steve Hunter of Washington Academy, members of the House/Senate. I oppose this bill. We must not allow table game gambling in Maine, our economy is weak and allowing people to use their disposable income to gamble is a bad thing, and our government shouldn't encourage gambling. |

Angel Thomas of Bonny Eagle, I urge my fellow members to support the minority Ought to Pass Report. Any way we can attract and create new buinsess in Maine is a good thing, we can't regulate morality. There are lotteries, bingo, and games of chance in many communities. A casino will be great for the economy of northern Maine, and we all know it could use our help. |
