Augusta Weekend

    ($50.00 due 1 week prior to Augusta session)

The Augusta Session is the culmination of the Youth in Government program.

• All those who attended the regional Training Session meet at the State House in Augusta to serve as a Model Legislature for the weekend.  Beginning on Friday with an opening session, and concluding Sunday with the announcement of the new Governor, and results of all bills.

• This is the time when all the bills submitted go from Public Hearing and Work Sessions. Bills also are debated on the floors of the House and Senate, and then possibly onto the Governor's Desk.

• Elected officers serve in their positions . This is the time that participants elected to offices at the 3 regional training sessions serve in their positions.

• This is also the weekend during which the candidates for Governor will run their campaigns for an election on Sunday morning.
