Roles for Advisors

To make the program a success we must have the help of our Advisors, we ask that you help us by being willing to take on one or more of the following roles throughout the program. It is important that each advisor be willing to take on at least one of the following roles:

COMMITTEE ADVISORS-------------------We will need 6, one for each committee

LOBBYIST ADVISOR-----------------------1 person to help on Thursday evening, and Friday

GOVERNOR'S CABINET ADVISOR-- -1 person to work with Governor and Cabinet keeping them on task

PRESS ADVISOR---------------------------1 person to work with newspaper staff help in editing newspaper

HOUSE / SENATE ADVISOR-------------Sit with Speaker and President to assist them

                                                                     (We will set up 3 time slots for Saturday and 1 for Sunday)

ELECTIONS ADVISOR------------------- 2 or 3 to help on Sunday morning

 

Augusta Committee Advisors:

One for each committee, to meet with the assigned committee whenever in session.  They are to help and advise but not participate in the committee. Be a resource for committee to help keep the decorum in the committee room, we are required by the State House to have an adult in each committee room.

 

 

Lobbyist Advisor: 

Coordinates the affairs of the lobbyist between the committees.

 

Governor’s Cabinet Advisor: 

Will oversee the business and affairs of the governor and his/her cabinet. Keep the group on task and focused

 

Press Advisor: 

Works with the youth in the production of a daily newspaper. All newspaper items must be approved by the advisor before publication. 

 

House Advisor:  

Be there to help the Speaker and Clerk in the workings of the House of Representative. Be able to help them through the process and assist when parliamentary questions arise. They will insure the group stay on schedule and work to give advise to Speaker.

 

Senate Advisor:

 Be there to help the President and Secretary in the workings of the Senate.    Be able to help them through the process and assist when parliamentary questions arise. They will insure the group stay on schedule and work to give advise to President.

 

Election Advisor:  

Help in the running of the election on Sunday morning. Man the polls, and collect and count the ballots, and evaluations.
